The Amelia Earhart Festival celebrates the connection of Amelia Earhart to Greater Lafayette, Indiana, through art, music, history, prose, tinkering, and soaring. It melds fun, scholarship, and history to educate and inspire all, particularly girls and women, to be whatever their heart’s desire. The foundation of every Festival offering is to lift up Earhart’s brilliant, easy-going, focused personality and her self-professed “enthusiasm for Purdue, woman-wise as well as aviation-wise.” The Amelia Earhart Festival is a joyful salute to the world-famous aviatrix, her time spent in Greater Lafayette, and her courage to fly, literally and symbolically.
